Class Experience

Learning about each other's cultures can really bring us together as a diverse community. It can create a welcoming environment, cultivate compassion for others, and we can learn how to better understand and appreciate each other. In this class we will learn interesting facts about Canada including: looking at maps, discussing the Canadian flag, learning some common food, popular animals, national sports, and some other cool information about Canada! This class will cover different academic areas such as geography, literacy, social studies, and science. I will also send a fun activity book for the students to do at their leisure. We will learn some cool stuff, play some cool games, and most importantly, have lots of fun! Hope to see you there!

Thank you,

Teacher Angela.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello Outschool families! My name is Angela and I have over 20 years experience teaching children in a variety of different areas. Children inspire me everyday with their curiosity to learn, and they give me so much passion and energy to teach!

I have my BA in Early Childhood Education from Ryerson University in Canada, TESOL certificate from TEFL International in Costa Rica, and my Mindfulness for Teachers Certificate from Phuket International Academy in Thailand. I’ve combined my love of teaching with my love of travelling and it has been an incredible experience. While living in Thailand for seven years, I had the opportunity to work in international schools and teach children from all over the world. I have experience in ECE, ESL, working with children with autism and other learning needs, mindfulness for children, and social and emotional development. I have worked in Early Childhood centres, International schools, private tutoring, ABA therapy, and online teaching.

My philosophy for teaching is that anyone can learn, we just learn in different ways. Great learning comes from igniting passion from interests and curiosity. When we are passionate and interested in something we can create learning in all areas of development. I believe as teachers, it is our obligation to find creative ways to guide children in learning concepts and discovering their passions. I also believe it is important to follow their lead in learning to be able to provide an environment where they can expand their critical thinking, problem solving, and creative skills.

I enjoy going to the beach, snowboarding, reading, and hanging out with my rescue dog Lucky that I brought home from Thailand!

Looking forward to seeing you in my classes!

Thank you,
Teacher Angela.
