This camp is an excellent opportunity for newcomers and seasoned veterans alike. Our main goal is to learn more about playing Dungeons and Dragons while doing so in a safe and fun environment. - Dungeons & Dragons is a terrific way for students to have fun while developing abilities in teamwork, problem-solving, critical thinking, research, creative writing, and some basic arithmetic. - Additionally, the students will hone their abilities in public speaking, self-expression, and empathy through in-game interactions and play. - Lastly, the students will work on the fundamentals of Dungeons and Dragons so they can jump into any campaign whenever they feel ready.
Will Guy, founder of Role to Play Games, has worked as a teacher and coach his whole professional life and has been immersed in role-playing games ever since he was a child. Not only does he have classroom experience, he has also worked as a professional game master for participants aged 6-60. Our goal is for your child to leave this lesson encouraged and enthusiastic, leading to further exploration of this fantastic game.
No homework is required, but students will level up and may need to update their character sheet between games.
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
While we will keep the content age suitable, please know that there will be monsters, battles, and otherworldly magic. In the game, characters can die (but this will not be directly depicted). I am happy to make accommodations for parents based on what they believe their child can handle.
We'll use official DnD content and the Dungeons and Dragons Fifth Edition (D&D 5E) ruleset.
