Class Experience

The class will start with a chat about what students know about DNA. It is totally fine if they have never heard of it!

We discuss what DNA is, its structure, why it is important and where it is.

Then we will build a DNA model out of playdough.

Students are welcome to do the activity with me (a list of materials is listed below) or just watch me do it.

Students will have a chance to ask questions.

My teaching style is collaborative and I would like every child who is keen, to take part. If a child prefers to observe in silence, that's fine too!

If you have a scientist who is older than 9, I have another class with the same concepts but a more advanced activity (DNA extraction) for older students.
