US Grade 7 - 10
In this lab activity, learners will be taught the basics of DNA and its extraction process. They will understand how structure impacts function. Topics that will be covered: - Introduction to DNA and its importance in genetics. - Understanding the structure of DNA. - The significance of DNA extraction in scientific research. - Step-by-step procedure for extracting DNA from a fruit. - Observing and analyzing the extracted DNA. The class will begin with an introduction to DNA. The step-by-step process of DNA extraction will be modeled, while learners also perform the extraction. There will be a guided discussion and analysis of the results. Clear demonstrations and explanations will be provided to ensure success. Learners can ask questions and share their observations during the class. They can also discuss their findings and exchange ideas with the class. No prior experience or knowledge is needed.

An educator for twelve years teaching many science courses, lab techniques, study and test taking skills. Teaching is an art that stems from coaching. Teachers are coaches who aid students in the skills necessary to master content. Being flexible, compassionate, passionate about learning and student focused are some ways teachers succeed in making a difference. I love neuroscience and majored in it. I also love exploring the beauty in nature.
