We will spend our hour together mixing together clay made from salt, flour, and additional ingredients. Once we have successfully mixed it all together and kneaded the dough to our liking, we will begin to form and design our ornaments using cookie cutters and/or free form. After class, each kiddo will need to allow for their project to dry for at least 12 hours before they can handle them or paint them if they would like. I will be using a secondary camera to help guide each student through each step of the clay making process. I will continue to work on my own ornament using the secondary camera to be sure that every kiddo feels confident with what they are doing with their own work. This class not only allows for some really cool ornament making but helps with math skills, as it pertains to measuring, allows for creative thinking, as well as social skills, and listening skills.

Hi there! My name is Tessa DeForge. I live in the beautiful state of Vermont with my husband, 2 silly dogs and 2 precocious cats. I graduated from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2011 and hold a bachelor's in Art Education.
I am very passionate about education. I have taught in a traditional setting for 10 years as a 6-12 art teacher and as an early educator. I love to teach a multitude of things through art and play. Some of the classes I offer are: Art Social Group, Crochet Club, 1;1 Knitting and Crochet classes, as well as social groups, to name a few. I am always looking to expand on my class list. The skies the limit when it comes to art and I hope to have some more exciting classes up and running in the very near future.
