This class is a good fit for students that are learning how to divide and for students that need a review in the area of division for the upcoming school year. In this lesson the students will be learning how to divide 3 and 4 digit dividends by 1 and 2 digit divisors. I will model examples on the Zoom whiteboard using the I do, we do, you do strategy. Students will be given the opportunity to solve problems on the whiteboard to show understanding of the skill. The following vocabulary words will be taught and matched to the problems (divisor, dividend, quotients, remainders). The students will interact with me using Zoom whiteboard. Students in this class should know their basic multiplication facts up to 12s. Day 1: Divide by 1 digit divisors using counters and base-ten blocks Day 2: Divide by 1 digit divisors using the distributive property Day 3: Divide by 1 Digit Divisors using the area model and partial quotients Day 4: Dividing by 2 digit divisors using base-ten blocks and the area model Day 5: Word Problems and Interpreting the Remainder/Review
