US Grade 2
Addition and subtraction within 100 to solve one- and two-step word problems, by using drawings and equations with a symbol for the unknown number to represent the problem. I will use the correct scaffolding for each student to move their learning forward. The class will be taught whole group, but with each student solving problems and then sharing how they got their answer. Also, students needing additional support I will model with to solve the math problem. My teaching style is working together to learn math and sharing our problems. We all learn best when we are allowed to share our thinking and to listen to peers share theirs. We can all become great math problem solvers in no time!
