This class will cover prepositions of place. Prepositions in general will be defined and then, we will focus on prepositions of place. My class is structured in a way that we will begin with activities including a pair activity activating students' background knowledge. Following this, an interactive lecture will be presented involving examples. Students will then do a sentence completion activity where they are given sentences to be filled in with the appropriate prepositions. To end...
Students will learn the definition of prepositions and how prepositions tell us the relationship between things in place and time and how they can also tell us what something is used for. Students will be given examples of each of these types of prepositions. Students will also be taught that prepositions specifically tell us the relationship between a noun, verb, or adjective and a noun or pronoun.
I have recently received a Master of Education degree in Second Language Education from the University of Minnesota and have a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies and Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies degree in Liberal Studies in Early and Elementary Education from Virginia Commonwealth University. I have further volunteered in teaching ESL in a high school. Additionally, I have volunteered teaching ESL to adults in an ESL conversation group at my church for the past three years and several years ago, volunteered teaching ESL to beginner adult ESL learners at another church. Moreover, I have experience tutoring in reading with Americorps to first and second graders as well as tutoring reading and math to a first grader in a tutoring program at my former church.
