55 mins in-class hours per weekClass Experience
During each lesson will cover Trigonometry topics. This class has the purpose of either learning new material in a flexible way or strengthening understanding of material that was previously learned. Example of topics are: radian measures, unit circle, graphing trigonometric functions, trigonometric identities and equations. The content may also include a review of algebra 2, when needed. I will send slides in advance that will help with note taking, I will assign problems and exercises through the lesson and receive constant feedback on the student's understanding. I will base the pace on such feedback and either provide more practice problems or move on to more in-depth exercises. Prerequisite: mastery of algebra topics. Note: If a student has never studied Trigonometry before, I do not recommend joining the class after 6/25/2021. In fact, to understand a lesson, students need to be familiar with the previous topics. Whereas, if a student has already taken Trigonometry before, then this class will be excellent for reviewing, mastering concepts, and thus getting ready for Calculus. This is a calendar of the first five topics. I will extend and update the calendar according to the student's pace, understanding and needs: Week 1 (7/9/2021): Angles in trigonometry Week 2 (7/16/2021): Radian Measure Week 3 (7/23/2021): Unit Circle and function evaluation Week 4 (7/30/2021): Unit Circle evaluations vs right triangle trigonometry Week 5 (8/6/2021): Graphing Sine and Cosine Functions Future weeks will be posted later on.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello!
I love teaching math and I am very excited to be able to continue to connect with students on this platform.
I have been a full time high school math teacher for fifteen years. I have taught subjects in the full range from Algebra 1 to AP Calculus AB and BC. I have been able to effectively reach and work students with different abilities: from those who need to build their math skills to students who are gifted and talented and need to be constantly challenged. Not only am I qualified to teach the content of a high school math class, but my extensive experience also fosters my ability to anticipate students’ needs even before they are expressed and to develop my lessons by taking into consideration the feedback I receive from my students. Throughout my career, I have striven to grow as a teacher in a variety of ways: from how I deliver the content and structure each lesson, to the way I incorporate the constant developments in technology for classroom settings.
I have also learned the great value of creating a classroom environment in which each of my students feels comfortable and safe enough to welcome the challenge to grow in their critical thinking skills. Over the years, many have shared with me the experiences of learning how to enjoy the work and to celebrate their success. In fact, one of the most rewarding experiences for me is to receive visits or letters from graduates who thank me for the years they were in my class: some thank me for been able to start college as sophomores thanks also to the AP credits earned in AP Calculus BC; others simply thank me for having helped them to build their math skills so that they confidently face their college math class. All mention how clear my teaching style is and how much they enjoyed being in my class despite the challenging nature of the material and hard work I expected from each of them.
I have always had a deep passion for mathematics, and I strive to share that passion with my students. For me, teaching is so much more than conveying concepts and knowledge: it is to embark on a journey of growth and discovery with each one, in which I also learn a great deal - and this is the greatest gift. I am too am grateful for the opportunity to grow in my efforts to share my talents and abilities with students to be responsive to their needs in a society that is continuously evolving.
One last "fun fact" about me as a person: I grew up in Italy in a small little town close to the Alps, and I love hiking and nature!
While I earned my master's in mathematics in Italy, my entire teaching career has been in the Unite Sates. Both education systems and philosophies define who I am now as a teacher giving me a passion for critical thinking and reasoning, which I hold together with a focus on the importance of concrete applications. My pedagogical methods are a product of the two cultures and I see how my students benefit from that meld.
