This is an ongoing class that will meet two times a week. This course is designed to give students time practice writing. During each class, students will be given a new topic. They will brainstorm in each class and will be given time to write. Please have your student bring a notebook or writing paper to class. Below is a breakdown of each class: Introduction: We will start each class with a brainstorming activity. I will provide the students with the topic, and the students will be given time to brainstorm. We will be using graphic organizers to help us brainstorm. I will model how to fill out each graphic organizer. Writing: In each class, the students will be given time to write. The students will write on the day's topic. I will provide students with a writing example. As the students are writing, I will help students with their writing. I will be listening to their ideas and giving them some new ideas to use in their writing. After writing, the students may draw a picture to go with their writing. Sharing: During each class, the students will share their writing and their drawing with the class. ***************************************************************** ***** WINTER/SPRING TOPICS ***** Week of January 5, 2025: - An Adventure - Museum Week of January 12, 2025: - Castle - Road Trip Week of January 19, 2025: - Working at a Factory - A Dairy Farm Week of January 26, 2025: - Trivia Game - Pie Contest Week of February 2, 2025: - Candy Factory - A Forest Week of February 9, 2025: - Tea Party - Hot Air Balloon Week of February 16, 2025: - A Cruise - Art Show Week of February 23, 2025: - Comic Book - Meteorologist Week of March 2, 2025: - Car Race - Food Truck Week of March 9, 2025: - Ski Hill - Sports Center Week of March 16, 2025: - Construction Zone - Cartoon Week of March 23, 2025: - Airplane - Library Week of March 30, 2025: - Music Competition - Skating Rink Week of April 6, 2025: - Community Center - A Park Week of April 13, 2025: - Tournament - Road Trip Week of April 20, 2025: - Games - Jungle Week of April 27, 2025: - Birthday Celebration - Spring Cleaning Week of May 4, 2025: - Spring Activities - Teachers Week of May 11, 2025: - Meadow - Contest Week of May 18, 2025: - Arcade - Plans
