This is an ongoing class that will meet three times a week. This course is designed to give students time practice writing. During each class, students will be given a new topic. They will brainstorm in each class and will be given time to write. Below is a breakdown of each class: Introduction: We will start each class with a brainstorming activity. I will provide the students with the topic. We will use graphic organizers to help us brainstorm. I will model how to fill out the organizer. Then, the students will be given time to brainstorm. Writing: In each class, the students will be given time to write. The students will write on the day's topic. As the students are writing, I will check-in with each student and listen to their ideas. If they struggle to come up with ideas, I give them assistance with some ideas they could write. If there is extra time, the students will draw a picture to go with their writing.
