There will be no assigned homework in this course. If students do not finish their writing in class, they may finish after class. Students are also encouraged to share their writing with someone at home.Assessment
Each learner is encouraged to bring a notebook to class. We will keep our writing in the notebook. This will show the progress of each learner throughout our course. I only give grades upon request.Grading

US Grade 1 - 3
This is an ongoing class that will meet three times a week. This course is designed to give students time practice writing. During each class, students will be given a new topic. They will brainstorm in each class and will be given time to write. Below is a breakdown of each class: Introduction: We will start each class with a brainstorming activity. I will provide the students with the topic. We will use graphic organizers to help us brainstorm. I will model how to fill out the organizer. Then, the students will be given time to brainstorm. Writing: In each class, the students will be given time to write. The students will write on the day's topic. As the students are writing, I will check-in with each student and listen to their ideas. If they struggle to come up with ideas, I give them assistance with some ideas they could write. If there is extra time, the students will draw a picture to go with their writing. Sharing: During each class, the students will share their writing. *************************************************************************************************************** Below are the topics students will be writing about during each class: Week of June 16, 2024: - Running a Race - Catching Bugs - Spending Time in the Mountains Week of June 23, 2024: - First Day of Summer - Amusement Park - My Favorite Sea Animal Week of June 30, 2024: - Traveling - Watching a Sunset - Going to an Outdoor Concert Week of July 7, 2024: - The Waterpark - Junk Food Day - If I Was a Zoo Keeper Week of July 14, 2024: - Time at the Lake - Going to a Cherry Festival - Going on a World Tour Week of July 21, 2024: - A Campfire - Building a Sandcastle - Visiting a Big City Week of July 28, 2024: - Living in a Cave If I Was a Pilot Traveling on a Train Week of August 4, 2024: If I Lived in a Mansion My Own Chef Living in a Lighthouse

I will provide a graphic organizer before each class. Students will need to bring the graphic organizer, a notebook, a pencil, and some crayons to class.
