Class Experience

-Students will know the difference between whales, orcas and dolphins.
-Students will be able to identify different species.
-Students will understand conservations status and what each categories means.
-Students will be able to categorize each animal as either a fish or a mammal and be able to explain why the animal belongs in that classification.
-Students will sharpen critical thinking skills as they for their own opinions about animal life in captivity. Are dolphins dangerous?
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Health and Wellness. The backbone of my degree was biology. Some of my coursework included Organismal Biology; Human Anatomy & Physiology 1&2; Toxicology, Microorganisms and Disease, Genetics and Forensic DNA Analysis.
-Reading short articles about 3 pages each.
-Watch the documentary "Blackfish" on Netflix.
-Labeling activities and crossword puzzles.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Some people have strong feelings about orcas in SeaWorld. Students will be able to express themselves freely in a respectful manner towards other classmates.
Articles will be posted in the class page. 
A Netflix account is needed for the film "Blackfish"
