A different approach to learn Tamil letters encouraging reading practice. Simple letters and their sounds will be introduced each week, students will be encouraged to write Tamil words based on the letters taught in the class.

This 4 week course emphasis on Tamil letters "it, ip, im" -(ட்,ப்,ம்). No previous knowledge of the language is necessary. The class is structured as: First 5 - minutes introduction to the letter and it's sound. Next 10- minutes Learning the Vowel - Consonant combined letters of ட்,ப்,ம் by singing them. Next 10 - Making words using the letters learned. Next 10 - Using the learned words in a sentence. Next 5 minute finding the learned letters in a book. Next 5 minute reading the book. Week 1 : Introduction of letters (ட, ட்) and words from letters of ட்,ப் and ம் line. Week 2 : Reviewing (ப, ப்) words and making sentences using the words learnt. Week 3 : Reviewing (ம, ம்) words and trying to read the common pattern used in words involving ட்,ப்,ம். Week 4: Assessment and review of previous classes and introduction to Thirukkural.
Learning Goals
The aim of this class is to make kids read Tamil books. As this class is the initial level to the process of reading Tamil, the kids will try to look for letters introduced to them in Tamil books and definitely will try to read them.

Hello! I'm Anusha Mathavaraj Ganesan. I have a master's in Computer Science and Engineering and working as an Instructional Support helping students with their grade level math.
My Teaching career started as an Instructor in Engineering College, I have handled classes for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. I had a break in my career to take care of my sons, then started my career again as a substitute teacher, floater, volunteer teacher. As a volunteer teacher I am coaching my mother tongue "Tamil" to beginners for about two years. I have experience in working with students of various age ranges from Preschoolers to College Students.
I believe in the quote "To Teach is to Learn Twice", I am always looking for new opportunities to learn, part of learning for me is teaching. I will keep on learning to inspire and motivate students to reach greater heights. I also believe that all children are unique and each of them learn in their own pace/style, I will assist my students to develop their own potential in the learning process.
