Description
Class Experience
Students will gain understanding of the meaning of basic ballet vocabulary and the movement that accompanies that vocabulary. Students will also gain flexibility and strength through out this course by participating in the physical stretches and class exercises.
There will not be homework assigned in this course.
For this course students will need: -an open area where they can move unrestricted -clothing that allows for unrestricted movement- active wear (or a leotard if available) -socks or ballet shoes -a chair or other waist high object that can be used in lieu of a ballet barre
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Parents, please be advised that this is a physical class involving large body movements and exercises. Please help your child find a space that is open so they have room that dance freely and safely. Students will need stretchy clothing that allows for unrestricted movement and protection for their feet (either socks or ballet shoes if you have some on hand). Students' hair should be secured away from their face so that they can see well. Students may need a water bottle accessible during class. Lastly, it is important to help your child stay in their dance space during class so that they do not knock into objects, fall, etc. as injuries can occur if not properly supervised.
