This class is designed for students who will be taking classes at home virtually this school year either using a hybrid or full-time schedule. It would also be ideal for a student who will be doing homeschool for the school year. -We will begin with a fun survival type icebreaker where the teacher will facilitate and students will share out. -We will then talk about how everyone is feeling about virtual learning. Politics and Medicine are off-limits topics and students will be directed to reach out to their parents to seek guidance on these topics. -The teacher will discuss ways to create an ideal virtual learning space including what it could look like and unique things to add to their space. The teacher will give students an opportunity to brainstorm ideas and discuss them with each other. -The teacher will then discuss ways to find and add Zoom backgrounds. Students can share unique backgrounds that they have found as well. -The teacher will talk about learning habits (when to do work, how to maintain focus, etc.) to help students create the best environment for their learning. -The teacher will facilitate a conversation about creative ways to keep in touch with classmates. -Finally, the teacher will have a Q&A session where questions are answered by the teacher or their classmates.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I am a virtual/distance learning teacher this school year through a virtual homeschooling network. I have been a traditional teacher for the past 6 years, and I am aware of the shift that many students will have to make as they change from traditional schooling to virtual and online school.
