Hello, and welcome to Disney's Wonderful World of Reading! I am teacher Billy and I have spent a lot of time discovering ways to make reading and English learning more fun and enjoyable for children! In this class, we will have a short story to read. Each student takes turns reading the story to practice reading aloud and building confidence. During this time I help students with learning to pronounce the new words. After reading the story, we talk about the story and what the characters...
Each week, students will learn: - 3 new Vocabulary words - How to effectively use our 3 Vocabulary words of the week. - Communicate their opinion of the story, characters, and situation. - Use our voice to make the story more exciting. - Practice reading, never before heard, Disney stories!
Homework Offered
Each week, the student will receive 3 new vocabulary words that will be used in next week's story. I ask that each student create a sentence for each vocabulary word to demonstrate that they understand the word to it's fullest. I also hope that students will have fun with this and get creative. We will start each class with the student sharing their sentence to the class.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Words of compliment will be given along with a short email home to their parents giving a good assessment on this week's lesson and any improvement. I will also write an email should there be more practice needed for the student to improve.Grades Offered
Student's will need to bring the following to class with them: - a blank notebook to write our vocabulary words and sentences in. - pencil - erases - a big smile - ready to learn and have fun ***All stories are taken from a Disney collection book called, “365 Bedtime Stories” by Nahdet Misr Publishing House. Agreement with Disney Enterprise Inc. You can purchase this book and use with us in class, but it is not necessary to complete this class.
