Class Experience
If students want to make this slime again the supplies and directions are listed below. Supplies: * Bottle of Blue Elmer’s Glitter Glue (6 oz.) * 1 tablespoon of baking soda * 1 teaspoon of saline solution (contact solution) * Warm water * Spoon or spatula * Mixing bowl Directions: 1. Empty the bottle of glitter glue into a mixing bowl 2. Stir in the baking soda. Mix well. 3. Add contact solution and mix until slime forms. You’ll notice it comes together immediately, and takes a few minutes to fully form. 4. Knead the slime with your hands to get it to a consistency you’re happy with. *if the slime is too sticky add 1 tsp of baking soda and 1 tbsp of water at a time until it becomes the consistency you want For the best results, keep slime in an airtight sealed container or zip lock bags either in a refrigerator or at room temperature. The slime will last a couple of weeks.
For this project each student will need: Blue Elmer's Glitter Glue (6 oz) Baking soda Warm water *Optional: I found this metallic blue swirl confetti on Amazon ($6.32) that reminds me of the Moana swirl logo and the swirl engraved on the Heart of Te Fiti from the movie. 30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
We will be working with glue and baking soda so parental supervision is highly recommended. This slime is NOT edible. Because of that, I don't recommend letting small children play with it if there's a chance they will try to eat it.
