In this one time class, students explore Disney's popular movie Encanto. Let's discuss our theories regarding Mirabel not receiving her magic gift.

Class Experience

If you enjoyed Disney's 2021 movie, "Encanto" then this is the class for you. Join me as we explore the theories and ideas regarding the reason Mirabel did not receive a magic gift. Unlike the rest of her family, Mirabel's ceremony did not quite go as planned. Children and parents alike are wondering about many things that might seem unclear in this movie. I hope to encourage your students to use critical thinking skills as we find clues to help us ponder these unclear answers.

Students will learn critical thinking skills. They will learn the difference between facts and opinions. Students will also learn to make observations, collect evidence, and form an evaluation based on the information they have gathered.

There will not be any homework for this class.

Students do not need to bring anything to class. If they would like to take notes to help organize their thoughts, then paper and a writing utensil are recommended.

There will not be an assessment.

40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.

We will watch clips from Disney's movie, "Encanto".
