Class Experience

Join me as I teach your child how to draw and color their favorite Disney ENCANTO characters: Mirabel, Isabella, Antonio, Deloris, Camilo, Louisa, and many more!

After learning to draw the character, your child is encouraged to sing along while they color the picture they drew. 

(PLEASE NOTE: depending on the skill level of this class, the class may last longer than 45 minutes, but not longer than 55 minutes.  I want to make sure each child gets enough time to finish and not feel rushed.)

(IMPORTANT UPDATE: The class used to be taught with me holding a camera and watching my actual hands drawing and coloring. However, my hands would get in the way and I could not zoom into the drawing to show the student each small step. The student would also not be able to see my face as the camera was focused on my hands at work.
Therefore, I have decided to have my face shown in one camera and the other will be from my iPad. The iPad will allow me to do each step without my hands being in the way of the camera. I will also be able to zoom into the smaller parts of the drawing so each student will be able to see and understand each step. It is my goal that the student is successful and proud of their work in my class. Please feel free to personally email me any suggestions you may have to make the class better.)

Having taught art for 12 years, I am happy to teach children how to draw and I love to see the smile of self confidence and accomplishment from the learner as the feel like they have achieved something that they thought was impossible. 

In my class you will find that different levels of students come together and learn how to support each other in their goal to learn how to be better at drawing and coloring. 

Each class I teach how to draw a new character, but I also give tips on how to be a better artist and the techniques only accomplished artist know. 

A typical 40 minute class goes like this:

2 minutes - introduction 

3 minutes - talk about the character of the week and gather your art supplies. 

20 minutes - draw with a pencil and eraser. 

12 minutes - color your drawing. 

3 minutes - show everyone your drawing and goodbyes.

Learning Goals

Students learn the easy and fun way how to draw and color. 

Students build their level of concentration by working towards following the teacher and not skipping ahead to do their own thing. 

Students learn about the different characters and what makes them special. 

Students will raise their level of self confidence by sharing their art with others and getting a positive feedback for  it.

Students will need:
- blank white paper
- pencil
- eraser
- multi colors (markers, colored pencils, crayons)

External Resources

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Hi there! I’m Teacher Billy, and I teach fun, creative, and super engaging drawing classes for kids who love characters, creatures, and storytelling!

What I Teach:
From Pokémon and Minecraft to baby animals, fantasy creatures, and book characters—you name it, we draw it! My classes are all about sparking imagination while learning real drawing skills, step by step.

My Background:
I’ve taught kids for over 20 years and studied art in 12 countries! I’ve even interned with Disney, Universal Studios, and DreamWorks, working on amazing movies like Tangled, Kung Fu Panda 2, and Puss in Boots. Pretty cool, right?

My Teaching Style:
Every child is an artist! I create a fun, friendly space where kids feel safe to express themselves, get creative, and build confidence. I guide them step by step—but always encourage them to add their own style and ideas!

Fun Facts About Me:
I currently live in Egypt and have lived all over the world—so I love learning about different cultures and meeting amazing people everywhere I go! 

I have 3 lovable dogs who are always nearby when I’m drawing or teaching.

Before becoming a full-time teacher, I was a professional actor and singer—I toured nationally, performed on Broadway, and even worked with Disney! 

For 16 years, I had the honor of working with children with both physical and mental disabilities—an experience that deeply shaped my love for teaching and connection.
