In this class, learners will practice their public speaking and debating skills while discussing Disney/Pixar topics. The class will start with a brief introduction to a speech and debate skill. Each class, the learners will try to implement this skill in their speech.

Some of the skills may include:
- Organizing thoughts before speaking
- Listening and understanding other students’ arguments
- Structured story telling
- Asking thoughtful questions

The class will move on to giving the learners a Disney/Pixar related topic. In case learners haven’t seen the movie of interest, some context will be provided.

Learners will then have 5 minutes to write an argument either for the topic or against the topic.

Learners are encouraged to ask a question to at least one other speaker to motivate everyone to listen to each other’s speeches and stay engaged for the full duration of class. This question session often leads to short pieces of rebuttal on both the questioner’s behalf and the speaker’s behalf.

We will encourage learners to speak in every class and challenge them to improve their debate skills.
No experience is required to take this class. It is recommended that students watch the movie that will be discussed, but it is not required.
