What will be taught? Students will learn the basic fundamentals of ballet through games, exercises and short combinations they can show you after each class. What topics will you cover? Some of the main topics I will cover include proper warm up and stretching, plies, tends, passes, piques and many other terms. After a few classes the student will know all these words by heart. How is your class structured? My class has three main parts including stretch/warm-up, center games and exercises to memorize terminology and then a short center combo that goes through what we have learned today. What is your teaching style? I will explain how to perform certain exercises or positions and I will also show the students how to execute them correctly. Any required experience or knowledge? No experience needed.

Parental Guidance
Please make sure each student has room to be active and all has water with them.
Supply List
Leotard and tights with ballet shoes is the typical attire, but if that is not available to you, any active wear will do.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Hi there! I'm Sam a teacher, dancer, choreographer, filmmaker and yogi. I have trained in dance for 10 years and I will earn my BFA in Dance Theatre Fall 2020. I have taught dance for 5 years now to kids ranging from 5 to 18. Dance, film and yoga all mean a lot to me and I love sharing the love and joy they each hold.
