Class Experience
In this 10 week course, students will have structured fun learning about what STEM is, understanding how the Engineering Design Process works, and experience working on STEM challenges. Students will obtain a better understanding of STEM using low prep materials. The lesson will include experiments with basic household supplies, game quizzes as well engaging class discussions. Students will obtain a better understanding of STEM and the Design Process.
I am an experienced Home School Teacher, ESL Online Teacher, and Counselor with a Master's of Social Work degree. I have over 10 years of experience teaching reading, Science, and Math subjects via homeschool, private school, summer camps, and virtually. I have over 13 years of Social Work experience with a concentration in cognitive behavior and child welfare. I am TESOL certified and have taught virtual ESL courses for over 3 years to Pre-K and elementary students.
A one page hand out will be provided on the first day of class. All Stem activities include many household supplies and basic school supplies such a paper, crayons, scissors, construction paper and glue.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Google slides and YouTube will be used as screen share resource, no account login is required. Quizlet will be used for games via hyperlink, no account login is required.
