The students will learn by participating in class discussions, engaging in experiments, describing models, and calculating equations. Students will interact with teacher via video chat. We will complete exciting models and experiments using everyday tools and household items. Daily Class Structure: Lesson Intro: 5 minutes Lesson, Activity or Experiment: 20 minutes Exit Ticket/Discussion: 5 minutes Weekly Breakdown: Week 1: - Day 1: Defining density, density model, the discovery of density. - Day 2: Density Sugar Lab Week 2: - Day 1: Calculating Density in Regular Objects - Day 2: Calculating Density in Irregular Objects Week 3: - Day 1: Density Diamond Investigation - Day 2: Testing Density in the World Around Us Essential Questions: What is density and how was it discovered? How is density calculated? How is density used to identify an unknown substance? How can we test density in our daily lives?
