Discovering Brazilian Culinary - Let's Make Cheese Bread!!!
Class experience
In this one-time class, students will learn how to make the most delicious cheese bread. This is a delicious baked good made basically with tapioca flour and cheese. The result is a crispy crusted bread with a chewy cheesy interior. Cheese bread is a staple food in Brazil and you will love it too. You can find it in almost every corner of the country. This class does not require kitchen experience from the learners, I will teach them all the techniques and safety issues. This is a literally...
Students will gain confidence in the kitchen by learning this delicious recipe. They will also learn how to measure ingredients and put them in order of usage, mix, and bake them in a very hands-on way.
I have two degrees in culinary arts - one taken in Brazil and one in the U.S. I was born and raised in Brazil, and I have been working with culinary for 9 years.
BEST CHEESE BREAD EVER!!!! Ingredients: 3 cups Cassava flour or yuca flour (preferably the fermented one called "polvilho azedo" that you can find at Brazilian stores if you have access to one. Some of my students have bought this one on Amazon.com. The fermented flour acts as a leavener and gives more volume and a softer texture to the final product while the regular flour makes heavier cheese bread). 1 cup Whole milk 2 cups Sharp cheddar cheese 1 cup Parmesan cheese 1/4 cup Vegetable oil (corn, canola, etc) 3 ea Large eggs 2 tsp Salt Equipment and Utensils: Stove and oven Midsize pot Whisk Large bowl Measuring cups and spoons Cheese grater Wooden spoon Sheet pan Parchment paper Dinner plate
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
This class requires the use of equipment and utensils such as a stove, oven, knives, blender, mixers, and others. Most of the recipes ask for cutting, boiling, frying, baking products, and other hazardous tasks that can lead to cuts, burns, and other kinds of injuries during their preparation. I will be teaching the safety of operating equipment and using utensils, but parental supervision and help during these tasks are required at all times. The recipes call for many ingredients, so please, check them for any food restrictions and/or potential allergens for your children. Each week I will be posting the supply list for the next class.
Culinary is my passion. I love cooking and teaching it. It is an amazing pleasure for me to see people learning how to cook or making foods they enjoy eating. Cooking is a kind of language where people can understand each other without speaking...
