In this class, we will learn about the Titanic using the book by Stephanie Sabol, "What Was the Titanic?" Students will learn: Class 1 - Introduction, Chapter 1-3: Introduction to the Titanic, What is a steam Engine?, Demonstration of steam experiment, Vocabulary and Identifying the ships parts. Class 2 - Chapter 4-7: Life Aboard the Ship, Who Was Onboard, The Telegraph Machine and Morse Code, What is an Iceberg?, Class 3 - Chapter 8-9: Abandon the ship, the state of the lifeboats,...
Students will explore the Titanic and its' disaster. We will learn about steam engines, the different parts of the ship, what life was like aboard the ship, the different classes of passengers, the telegraph and Morse Code, all about icebergs, lifeboats, who got off the ship and in what order, being rescued by the Carpathia, and what artifacts have been brought up from the wreckage.
I have been an educator on Outschool since February of 2018. I have my MBA and MHA, both of which have taught me the value of conducting research and asking questions. I have a passion for history and learning. You can usually find me in the middle of 2-3 books or watching a documentary.
Students should have their own copy of the book "What Was the Titanic?" by Stephanie Sabol. All worksheets and printable's will be available on the classroom page the day before class. Students should have access to pencils, and either colored pencils or crayons.

In this class, we will be discussing class systems (poor vs. rich) and how many people lost their lives. There may be some Youtube videos that are seen during this class. I will share my screen and learners will not need to access them on their own.
