Beginner - Intermediate Level
In this class students will learn: 1. What is plate tectonics 2. What the 3 types of plate boundaries are and how they move 3. What land features form at each of these 3 boundaries The teacher will open with a hands on jigsaw puzzle challenge where students will have 2-3 minutes to correctly configure a super continent, also known as Pangea, with their paper puzzle pieces that represent the plates on Earth's crust. Next, the teacher will show the students the correct way to place the pieces to create Pangea and see which students got it correct! Then, the teacher will dive into teaching students all about the plates and how they move and what land feature is created at this boundary using an interactive slide deck while students fill out a graphic organizer to help them organize the new information learned! teacher will end the class with a live competitive Quizlet game test their new knowledge be sure to stay tuned for the next class where we do a hands on experiment to put our knowledge to the test!
