I am a former Special Education teacher and have worked with students with disabilities (including autism, cognitive disabilities, learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and other developmental disabilities) in the areas of math, language arts, social studies, science, and social-emotional learning. As a child with ADHD learning math, I really struggled with worksheets and would have benefitted from the multi-sensory approach provided through the Dimensions Math curriculum (which is why I use this exclusively). I understand that math isn't just about numbers but how one puts together the concepts for real-world applications. As assessment of this sort can provide a starting point in one's math journey.
50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
I will use the placement tests provided by Singapore Math (https://www.singaporemath.com/pages/placement-tests) as well as additional sources for evaluation.
