Class experience
In this lesson, the young learners will learn the parts of a flower. We will use real pieces of pressed flowers to identify and label each piece. This is an introduction of plant science for younger children. We will start the class off by introducing ourselves by name and where we live. By using diagrams of the parts of a flower, real pieces of flowers, and an end of class drawing activity, each learner will be able to recite the parts of a flower. The parts we will be identifying include:...
I encourage each learner to bring a ruler, colored pencils, markers, or crayons, and paper. Learners may also use markers and dry-erase boards if they prefer. If the learner is able to find a flower before class, we can use it as a show and tell to discuss and describe what we see.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
