In this course, students will learn about the culture and language of Quebec, Canada. While this French speaking province has certainly been influenced by North American culture, it still has many unique traits from its European roots. In fact, walking around La Ville de Quebec (Quebec City) is like strolling the streets of Paris. In addition to learning about the culture of Quebec, students will learn about unique aspects of the French language that are part of the Quebeçois dialect. ...
When I began my teaching career it was because I had a passion for French language and culture and I wanted to teach it at the high school level. I taught French for seven years and I have taught every level from French I to French IV. Additionally, I lived in Quebec, Canada for six months to further my study of French and I have traveled to France to learn more about the culture. In addition to living in Chicoutimi, Quebec, I have traveled to Montreal and Quebec City many times and I'm very familiar with Quebec culture and language. I am excited to share my knowledge of French with your children!
Materials will be provided in advance of the course. No additional resources will be necessary.
1 hour 15 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
