Description

Class Experience

1. Students will learn facts about the physical characteristics of Hammerhead sharks such as size, features, diet and ocean habitat. 
2. Students will learn how scientists use these characteristics to compare and classify a species such as the Hammerhead shark. 
3. Students will learn why the conservation of the Hammerhead sharks is important and what is being done to prevent the extinction of this species. 
4. Students will also learn new vocabulary words related to the study of Hammerhead sharks.
No homework, but your child may be interested in learning more facts about Hammerhead Sharks and ocean conservation science, while making additional drawings or extended artwork relating to the topic of sharks.

Learner Supply List: 1. Paper (notebook, sketchpad or loose paper is fine) 2. Art media such as Crayons, Pencils or Markers 3. Print Pack: (attached to the welcome message in the classroom and visible if you are logged in as the LEARNER) Contains two drawing templates to assist learners. Note: A certificate and Hammerhead Shark fact and Vocabulary sheet will be sent as a separate download available after class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
There is no formal assessment for this class. Students will be learning concepts of science along with the opportunity to further develop their math, geography, vocabulary and creative thinking skills while learning about Hammerhead Sharks.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
NO scary or violent content here, just scientific facts presented in a positive way to encourage learning and scientific discovery.
NO third-party teaching tools will be used in this class.
