Class Experience
When you think of Paris, France, more often than not, the image of the Eiffel Tower comes to mind. In this class, we will learn about Niagara Falls, using the "Where Is the Eiffel Tower" book by Dina Anastasio as a basis for our studies. It is not required to have this book for class, but some learners may find it useful to read along with each lesson. In this 5 week class, we will learn: Class 1 - A brief history of France and a look at it's culture; Class 2 - A look at the Galerie des...
Students will learn a brief history of France, the definition and examples of engineering, how the tower was built, and the different ways it has been used in history.
I have been an educator on Outschool since February of 2018. I have my MBA and MHA, both of which have taught me the value of conducting research and asking questions. I have a passion for history and learning. You can usually find me in the middle of 2-3 books or watching a documentary.
Each week, students will have different homework assignments, from worksheets, building a 3D model of the tower out of paper, an engineering project to build an Eiffel Tower that is as tall as they are, and more.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
There may be some Youtube videos that are seen during this class. I will share my screen and learners will not need to access them on their own. Students will play a Kahoot game on the last day of class. They will be provided the game link and access code.
