1 hour per week. Learners will be encouraged to write down their words/phrases and to continue practicing their Spanish.
Assessment
With an informal and encouraging review and assessment at the end of the class. For those learners who continue with the program, at the start of each class, there will be a review of the previous material.

Class Experience

US Grade 1 - 12
Beginner Level
Important Notes:  All of my classes are inclusive.   Classes are suitable for the neurodiverse child. 
CEFR:  B1-B2 and above.

Learner will discover and learn:  Main highlights from Spain's geography, history and mediterranean culture from ancient times to modern day, its customs, monuments, art, architecture, and more, joining the 450 M plus people who speak Spanish in 20 countries.  Class includes basics of the Spanish language roots, history & useful words and phrases to break the ice in new encounters. 
Class is private so child has the opportunity to participate fully in the class. 

Class may be taken repeatedly for 1 hour Spanish ongoing class.

The first Spanish class and material will include:

A review of Spain's history from 36,000 years ago to modern day, including how the language was born, Spain's geography, culture, cuisine, and main artists;
The Spanish Alphabet and phonetic foundations;
Introduction to Spanish grammar; 
This class has various choices of Lesson Plans that include nouns, pronouns, adjectives, verbs and sentences in present tense:

Child may choose a lesson plan that inspires and/or meets their needs (travelers usually choose greetings or restaurants)
Learner may repeat class for different lesson plans.  
Learner may repeat class to cover all lesson plans and complete basic Spanish level. 

Class will be taught in an inclusive way. Learner is encouraged to write down the words in their notebooks.  There will be a PowerPoint for their convenience.   For these reasons and for gauging Learner's interest level and to be able to adjust accordingly, I require open mics and video in my classes so there is a sense of community and engagement with the material.  Learners will be interacting, helping each other, and memorizing the words/phrases. 

No pre-requirements.

Learner may repeat this class to build up vocabulary and phrases for different life situations and settings.
Learning Goals
At the end of the first class, Learner will have acquired a basic understanding of Spain's history from the stone age to modern times, its geography, important and/or historic monuments, master artists, key/nice words/phrases to break the ice of communicating with another person in a different language.  This new knowledge may expand their horizons to be more inclusive, empowered, diverse, and ultimately personally enriched by the exchange.   Learners who select to continue with the course and cover its 30 lesson plans, will learn the basics of Spanish.

Supply List
Learner should have a quiet space, free of electronic distractions, a work station such as a desk or a table and chair to work from, a small notebook and a pen for them to write down the words and phrases.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
