In this preschool handwriting class, beginner writers will begin to write numbers, letters and draw pictures using different shapes. They will also build social skills by sharing their drawings. This is an ESL/EFL TEFL approved class.

Beginner Level
During our class, we will be developing fine motor skills, so that your child can become a successful writer. Prewriting skills can be developed to help the learner have control of their pencil so they can write fluently and clearly. Developing these skills early on can help the learner be more successful in the classroom. Each class will be in the following structure: 1. Greeting and Finger Stretches 2. A pre-writing warm-up--This will be used to target their fine motor skills. The learner will need some type of small object, such as pom poms, gems, beads, gold fish, coins ect. 3. Activity 4. Writing page [completed during or after class] I will model for the students how to do each activity. They will imitate the tasks. When completing an activity or writing the students will complete and then show on camera. The learner will use the handwriting squares worksheet during class. I recommend laminating or putting it in a sheet protector so your child can reuse it during the course of our class. My teaching style is to see what the student knows and then give constructive feedback so they can learn. I adapt the lesson to best meet the needs of the class.

The student will strengthen his/her fine-motor skills so that he/she can make letters and shapes more accurately.

I attended Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri earning a bachelors in elementary education with an emphasis in early child. I then went back to school and received my bachelor's in communication science disorders which allows me to be a speech therapist assistant.

My classes are developed to help students have the foundational skills to become lifelong learners. Also, there are classes that are developed to help students to build on their desires and passions, so they can meet their goals.
I believe every learner has the opportunity to learn if they have a good attitude and the right environment. The environment makes a big difference on the learner's attitude. In my classes, I always engage as many senses as possible, since research shows that stronger neural pathways are formed when more senses are engaged! Students also take control of their own learning by asking questions and sharing what they know.
I am more a facilitator and try help where is needed and ask engaging questions.
Some fun facts about me include a love for outdoors, spending time with family, and reading. Alex, my dog, looks like a fox. I always like to learn something new and now I am learning to play the piano.Reviews
