In this creative chess class, students with ZERO experience will be learning the basics of chess including the piece names and movements, and will be introduced to check. This class is not ideal for students who ALREADY know ALL the piece names and ALL the movements. For this NO EXPERIENCE class, students at this level of chess are entirely new to the game. Students will learn the basics of chess including the names of pieces, how they move, and the value of making good decisions when capturing their opponent's pieces.
Optional, a chess board. Practice using Zoom tools such as chat feature and annotation tool.

Class will be offered if class minimum is met and/or the date will be pushed back to allow for more learners to join the fun! There are 3 ways to practice chess skills in this class: 1: Activity Book 2. Tech/Online Resource 3. Chess Board Technology is usually limited to a hyperlink being placed in the Zoom chat feature, and students click on it to practice a skill. It's also helpful if students can practice using the Zoom Chat feature and annotation tool if they would like to try fun chess games and draw on my chess board.
