Each session will introduce a new animal-related theme, encouraging learners to explore the natural world while practicing Mandarin vocabulary and phrases in a supportive, interactive environment. ★★What Will Be Taught?★★ - Animal names and their Mandarin translations, including familiar creatures like 熊猫 xióngmāo (panda), 老虎 lǎohǔ (tiger), 青蛙 qīngwā (frog), and more exotic species like 孔雀 kǒngquè (peacock) and 大象 dàxiàng (elephant) - Animal sounds and movements (e.g., “猫叫” māo jiào – "The cat meows," “鸟飞” niǎo fēi – "The bird flies") - Animal classifications and habitats (e.g., farm animals, wild animals, aquatic animals) - Chinese cultural elements related to animals, such as the Chinese zodiac and folktales (e.g., The Legend of the Monkey King 孙悟空) - Basic Mandarin phrases to describe animals (e.g., “这是我的狗。” Zhè shì wǒ de gǒu – "This is my dog") - Fun science facts about animals (e.g., life cycles, diets, and adaptations) ★★How Is the Class Structured?★★ Each 30-minute session will follow a fun and interactive format: - Welcome & Greeting: Begin with a Mandarin greeting and an introduction to the animal of the day. - Animal Exploration: Learn about the animal’s name in Mandarin, its sound, habitat, and interesting facts, with visuals and storytelling. - Interactive Activity: Participate in a hands-on activity or game, such as a matching game, animal movement imitation, or drawing the animal. - Wrap-Up & Mandarin Practice: Review key vocabulary and phrases learned in class and practice saying them in Mandarin. ★★Language of Instruction★★ This class will be taught primarily in English, with key Mandarin phrases and vocabulary introduced throughout each session. Learners will hear and practice animal names, sounds, and basic descriptions in Mandarin while exploring fun science facts in English. This balanced approach ensures the class remains accessible to all learners, including those new to Mandarin.
