Class Experience

US Grade 6 - 9
Beginner Level
This course covers four foundational five-paragraph essays that are crucial for developing strong writing skills. This discounted, no-feedback course allows learners to write essays and use automation tools to receive feedback. They will learn how to submit their work to AI tools like Grammarly and ChatGPT to get feedback on grammar, punctuation, spelling, and content. Parents can also use provided rubrics to give feedback.

While feedback is beneficial, this course is offered for two reasons:
1. Due to requests from parents and learners who want writing practice without feedback.
2. To accommodate families looking to save money while still experiencing the course.

Rubrics will help parents and learners gauge writing quality. Links to websites where learners can upload their work for feedback will be provided.

I started my path to teaching in college when I volunteered with AmeriCorps. I went on to teach in traditional public schools after I completed my M.Ed. and received my teaching license, but I quickly learned the school environment was not the ideal setting for myself or my child. That is when I transitioned to homeschooling and teaching online. I have been teaching writing course for fifteen years. My primary objective in each class is to help the learners feel comfortable and gain confidence in their writing.
