1 live meeting
50 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
Inspired by my popular 4-week course, this single-offering class will provide an overview of the history and creation of EDM (or electronic dance music). We will learn about this popular genre's predecessor, disco, as well as explore different sub-genres that have emerged in the last 50 years. As a class, we will listen to examples of electronic music and learn to differentiate between some of the most popular genres. Learners will learn through in-class lecture, in-class listening, and in-class discussion. They will be provided with a summarizing handout and additional resources for extra learning opportunities after class. No formal homework or assessment will be completed for this course.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Electronic music is such a fun genre for young learners to explore! It requires little musical knowledge and allows students to be truly creative. EDM is a genre I thoroughly enjoy and feel is not taught in standard music literature and theory courses enough! I am excited to offer this class to learners who share my passion for electronic music and DJing!
