The students will begin class by learning about regular and irregular past tense verbs. They will practice spelling an example of each way to make past tense verbs. Then the students will read short passages about meat-eating dinosaurs from the Cretaceous Period including the Baryonyx, Tyrannosaurus Rex, Spinosaurus, and Velociraptor. The students will identify the past tense verbs in the passages. The students will also answer comprehension questions using past tense verbs. The students will practice using past tense verbs in provided sentences about the dinosaurs. The students will end class by creating their own sentences with past tense verbs based on provided pictures of dinosaurs.
