Through teacher created slideshow, visuals, and guided discussion, students will learn about Plesiosaurus, Dimetrodon, and Giganotosaurus. They will delve into their body structure, and predict how their adaptations aided survival in prehistoric Earth. Students will then be guided through a creative activity where they create and draw their own dinosaur while including specific adaptations. They will then complete a short writing prompt about their creation explaining how their adaptations helped their dinosaur survive. The culminating activity is to share their creation with the class.
Learning Goals
Students will learn about the Plesiosaurus, Dimetrodon, and the Giganotosaurus, and the adaptations that helped them to survive in their environment. Students will create their own dinosaur with unique adaptations, complete a short writing prompt and share their creations with the class.
