Dinosaurs, Giant Creatures and More: Study of Life Through the 13 periods (Flex)
Class experience
Each week I will post a discussion and activity prompt, Kahoot self paced challenge, video lesson, and the slides used in the lesson. The students will then record a video of them responding to the discussion prompt and explaining their activity. There will be chances for the students to respond and interact with each other through their collaborative stories created and to comment or ask questions about their work. Students will learn the basics of each time period (Atmosphere, Lifeforms, Landscape and how long ago) and will be assess through the Discussions, Activities, and Kahoot Challenges.
I have taught 6th grade science and have developed this course in mind to teach my own children whom are 10 and 11 about the evolution of life. I want the students to be able to build a community and share their ideas about a topic they love with other students, no matter how busy or what time zone they live in.
Homework Offered
Discussion and Activity prompt videos on Flipgrid and Google Classroom for students to interact and respond to Comprehension Checks through Kahoot Challenges. Each week the students will need to watch a lesson or videos and read the slides that go with it. They will then need to respond with a video of them responding to my discussion and activity prompt along with a response to a classmate's activity or thoughts.2 - 4 hours per week outside of class
