In this one time class students will learn about the giant predatory birds that tried to succeed the dinosaurs
Class experience
I will teach about the large predatory birds that once hunting horses and even ancient humans. I will cover the Demon ducks, the Gastornids before arriving at the Phorusrhacids, known today as terror birds and what allowed them to dominate for a while long after most dinosaurs went extinct. My class will be structured along the family tree of these birds, starting with the Gastornids, then moving onto the predatory ducks then moving later in time to the terror birds. Students will learn about all the different terror birds that once terrorized planet earth.
I am an educator in the deep time hall of the Smithsonian and I studied paleontology and paleobiology at the University of Alberta.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
