Description

Class Experience

I will be teaching about various Jurassic and Cretaceous birds and their evolution.
The topics I will cover will be: 1) Middle Jurassic birds and their relation to raptors. 2)How they developed wings. 3)Gliding flight 4)Four wings, bat wings and two wings 5)Loss of teeth
My class will be structured along the timelines of the Jurassic and the Cretaceous as we follow the bird family tree from their raptor origins

Students will learn how birds arose in the world of dinosaurs and how they eventually came to dominate the air like they do today.

I am an educator at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. I studied Paleontology and Paleobiology at the University of Alberta. I have been on several dinosaur digs and I have taught many similar classes on Outschool.

No homework needed

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
