US Grade Preschool - Kindergarten
This dinosaur-themed course meets once a week. We will explore fundamental math concepts through interactive activities. This course is ideal for students who are in Preschool or Kindergarten. I am a certified math teacher with over 8 years of experience and love to make learning fun! Students will be provided with dinosaur-themed activities which will allow them to explore the concepts in a fun, engaging way. There will be many opportunities for students to participate and share their ideas. This course is full of content and encourages learning through group activities and games. Students are encouraged to bring their favorite toy dinosaur. If time permits, they will be able to share it with their friends at the end of the class. This is an ongoing class so students are able to join at any time. Each week will be a new math topic as seen below. Once each topic has been covered, I will begin again at week 1. Students are welcome to take each class more than once. Week 1 - Number Sense (number identification and printing numbers) Week 2 - Number Sense (more vs. less) Week 3 - Patterning Week 4 - Sorting Week 5 - Geometry (2D shapes) Week 6 - Addition Week 7 - Addition (different than the previous lesson) Week 8 - Measurement (length, height, non-standard units) Week 9 - Data Management (basic graphing) Week 10 - Subtraction

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello everyone! My name is Danielle. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Child and Youth Development as well as a Bachelor of Education degree. I am a certified teacher qualified to teach Kindergarten-Grade 6. I also have additional specialized qualifications in Reading and Primary Education and have taken numerous professional development courses focusing on literacy and mathematics. I also have my TESOL certification for teaching English. I consider myself to be a continuous and lifelong learner and am committed to embracing the challenge of professional growth in order to provide your child with the best possible learning experiences.
Over the past 8 years, I have been a classroom teacher and have taught many grades. I currently teach Literacy, Math, and Science to Junior and Senior Kindergarten students. I knew that I wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember and it is truly my passion. I strive to create innovative classes that keep my students engaged while learning at the same time. For the past 3 years, I have also been teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) to students through an online platform. I have taught thousands of ESL classes in person and online. I have taught English to students from all over the world including China, Peru, Mongolia, South Korea, Malaysia, Brazil, and Japan. It can be difficult for young children to learn through a computer screen, however, this experience has strengthened my ability to be an engaging teacher even while teaching virtually. I keep my students engaged by utilizing technology, incorporating movement when possible, making the content relatable, and learning through hands-on experiences.
I am a mother to a 3.5-year-old boy and an almost 1-year-old girl. As a parent, I know how important it is to feel informed when it comes to your child’s education. For this reason, I make open communication with parents and guardians a priority. Please feel comfortable contacting me, through the Outschool platform, if you have any questions or concerns about your child’s learning experience in my classes. I am passionate about embracing my students’ eagerness to learn and to enhance their growth as individuals. I encourage and welcome all learners in my classroom and would love to teach, have fun and learn with your child!
