Patterns are all around us and playing with patterns is a lot of fun! Children learn to recognize, create, copy and extend patterns through repeated daily activities. In Mathematics, a pattern is a repeated arrangement of numbers, shapes, colors, etc. In this one-time class, learners will practice patterning, with a dinosaur theme. We will look at pictures of dinosaurs, identify and name them, decide the pattern and color them. Some of the dinosaur patterns we will discuss are AB, ABB, AABB...

1 file available upon enrollment• 3 handouts printed before class • glue stick and a rag or towel to wipe hands if they get sticky • crayons, pencils, colored pencils or markers and safety scissors (not sharp)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
To ensure the safety of the children in your setting, it is your responsibility to assess whether adult supervision or other appropriate safety measures are required when using scissors.
