US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - Kindergarten
In this 2-day camp, we will focus on paleontology-the science of the history of life on earth with Dinosaurs. In this 2-day camp, the focus will be on what is a paleontologist, what do paleontologists study in relation to Dinosaurs, their characteristics, and their habitats. In each class, we will focus on three dinosaurs, for a total of 6 dinosaurs. In class, we will learn each dinosaur's characteristics, habitat, geographic location, interactions, and evolution. We will compare and contrast each dinosaur that we learn in class. The Class is dinosaur themed and we will use dinosaur, animals, and archeology-themed items, cars, humans, appliances, and buildings to reference the weight, length, and height of the dinosaur so that the learner can have the context of the weight, length, and height of the dinosaurs. Each class will have dinosaur video clips, dinosaur slides, a game, and a discussion of the dinosaurs covered. In class, we will also focus on the colors, size, diet, and characteristics of the dinosaurs. I will provide a worksheet for students of each dinosaur for each class. For last-minute enrollers, I will send the worksheets before the class begins that you are enrolled in. This is a 2-day camp. Class is at a beginner level. Students are encouraged to bring their dinosaurs to class. In each class, we have "Dino Show-and-Tell". Each student will have time to show their dinosaurs, give a description of their dinosaurs, and interact with the other students. Each learner MUST be registered for each class. For siblings, each sibling will need to be enrolled in the class. It is respectful for all learners that every student is registered. Day 1: Ankylosaurus, Stegosaurus, and Velociraptor. Day 2: Tyrannosaurus, Brontosaurus, and Triceratops. I will be using Kahoot and Boom Cards for the games that we will play in class.
