Dinosaur Guided Reading Lessons: Long O Sound (o, oa, oe, ow, ough)

In this 2-week class, we will focus on identifying and reading the long O sounds (o, oa, oe, ow, ough) in words, sentences, and short paragraphs. I will use fun activities to emphasize the long O sound with a focus on dinosaurs.

Description

Class Experience

We will focus on learning the long O sounds in words, sentences, and paragraphs. We will read two short books on Dinosaurs. There is also opportunity for a short focus on reading comprehension.  Students will improve their reading and fluency skills in learning to identify the long O sounds in all its different forms when reading. 
I am a school librarian, reading coach, reading tutor, and ESL teacher. I love teaching children to read and love to see their immense excitement with their successes! 
There is no homework for this class.  
Learners will receive online rewards throughout the lesson to reinforce their successes and participation.  
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
