WEEK 1: The Big Mystery SECTION 1: Tuesday, December 21, 2021 SECTION 2: Thursday, December 23, 2021 Students will learn about the ancient time of the dinosaurs. They will learn what a mystery is and why dinosaurs are a mystery to us. They will learn about and use English to discuss the following: *fossils *continents *bones *sizes *stones/rocks *extinct *archeology/archeologist *evidence *million *era *period *prehistoric *dinosaur names and classifications WEEK 2: Let’s Chat About Habitat SECTION 1: Tuesday, December 28, 2021 SECTION 2: Thursday, December 30, 2021 Students will learn about the climate and environment during the time of the dinosaurs. They will learn about and use English to discuss the following: *environment *species *adapt/adaptation *migrate/migration *environment/habitat/climate *sea/lake *temperature/weather/warm/hot/humid/wet *increase/decrease/high/more/low/less/fewer *sizes *connection *change *more dinosaur names and classifications WEEK 3: We’re Chatting About Change SECTION 1: Tuesday, January 4, 2021 SECTION 2: Thursday, January 6, 2021 Students will learn about dinosaur characteristics and how they adapted to their environment. They will learn about and use English to discuss the following: *appearance/feature- body, skin, legs, neck *describing words- front/back, feather(feathery), fast, slow, strong, long, hard, soft, vertical, horizontal, cold-blooded, warm-blooded *activities- run, walk, chase, hide, avoid *analyze/compare/deduce *evidence *more dinosaur names and classifications WEEK 4: A Day in the Life of the Dinosaurs SECTION 1: Tuesday, January 11, 2021 SECTION 2: Thursday, January 13, 2021 Students will learn about foods dinosaurs ate, how they lived, and where they lived. They will learn about and use English to discuss the following: *carnivore, herbivore, omnivore *food availability and effect *compare, reason, group, source *live in groups *live alone, “by myself” *mouth/teeth, stomach *plant, leaf, grass, stone *weight- kilograms, tons *more dinosaur names and classifications Class Projects: All weekly class projects are optional. Students can draw or make models of dinosaurs, fossil excavation sites, dinosaur habitats, and dinosaur foods.

This information is uploaded into the classroom weekly. General supplies would include paper and basic drawing and art supplies. Supplies are optional.
