Class Experience

Love dinosaurs? Then come on in...
Students will learn how to draw and color a T-Rex, being guided step by step through the process via 'show' and 'tell' instructions. Beginning with simple geometric shapes and lines to a fully formed T-Rex fresh from the Cretaceous Period. Students can also learn and share interesting and fun facts about the T-Rex and other dinosaurs whilst they work.
No real art experience or ability is needed. I can provide a template for learners to trace and color if they need it.

Learning Goals

Students will:
- Expand their social skills by engaging with myself and other learners
- Hone their fine motor skills by drawing and coloring with varying pressure
- Develop their auditory and visual processing by listening and following instructions

Profile
Teacher expertise and credentials
I have been in education for 19 years and am currently the Assistant Head of Special Educational Needs in a secondary school (students aged 11-16) in the UK. I believe in an inclusive education for all students, no matter their ability or disability.
I teach English, Film and Media, and creativity is at the heart of all the classes I teach.
I was an art technician for three years in which I honed my artistic skills that I will use to offer art based classes.
I also ran my own small baking and cake decorating business for seven years; I even had celebrity clients! So, I hope to offer these classes to students in the near future.
In my spare time I love walking my pug and I am an avid reader of fantasy fiction. I also enjoy running; I have completed several half marathons and my goal is to complete a full marathon some day. I am a big kid at heart so look out for my Pokémon based classes!

I will leave you with one final thought: 'Education is the most powerful weapon we can use to change the world.' - Nelson Mandela.
