Description

Class Experience

Children will be taught about different types of dinosaurs. They will have a chance to share, if they choose, a dinosaur toy that they bring with them to class. Students will be able to enjoy a dinosaur read aloud story. The books that will be read aloud to the students are “How Do Dinosaurs Go to School?” by Jane Yolen and Mark Teague and if time allows “Dinosaur Babies” by Lucille Recht Penner. To follow up with the story, the children will be able to make their own dinosaur from a paper...

Students will learn the names of different dinosaurs. They will also enjoy a read aloud story. They will learn hoscto make s dinosaur from a paper plate.

There will not be any homework assigned for this course. I only encourage parents to read aloud to their children every day to instill a love of reading.

  1 file available upon enrollment1. The children may bring a toy dinosaur to class to share if they choose to. 
2. Half a paper plate 
3. Green construction paper
4. Glue stick
5. Scissors- Please supervise your child when using scissors. 
7. Crayons or markers to decorate the dinosaur 
8. Dinosaur coloring pages-an attached file to download and print for your child
Please note: Children should have all of the dinosaur parts cut out ( head, legs, tail, and spikes) before class to make it easier to instruct them as to how to make their dinosaur during class.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

There will not be an assessment given in this course. However, I will be informally observing the student’s interest and engagement in the read aloud stories.

30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.

There is no content that is more appropriate for more mature students in this course.
