Class Experience
If you love dinosaurs, this is the class for you! Learners can bring a dinosaur toy to class so that share their favorite dinosaur with others. Learners will begin class with a fun song about dinosaurs to engage them! We will read a story about a dinosaur who has a problem called, "How Do Dinosaurs Play with the Friends" by Jane Yolan or a book where we meet a lot of dinosaurs called, "I Met a Dinosaur" by Jan Wahl. Learners will be encouraged to share connections, ask questions, and make...
Learners will practice their social skills by talking with friends and taking turns listening and speaking. Learners will practice counting skills and one to one correspondence. Learners will practice singing and rhyming. Learners will practice recognizing the letter "d" and the sound that goes with d. This builds knowledge of phonics. Learners will practice their creativity and fine motor skills by drawing.
No homework is required.
Learners will need paper and art supplies, such as pencils, colored pencils, crayons, or markers. Learners may chose to bring a dinosaur picture or toy to class to share at the beginning.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
No assessments.
25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
No parental guidance is needed.
